Cambodia Coffee Export Packing: What Green Coffee Buyers Should Specify
For Cambodian green coffee and Fine Robusta, export packing should preserve two things: physical quality and lot identity. These studies do not prove that one branded bag is required for every Cambodian shipment. They support the broader buyer principle: packaging permeability and environmental control matter.
Jute, liners and barrier packaging
Traditional jute bags remain common in coffee trade because they are strong, breathable and operationally familiar. Their limitation is that they offer relatively little barrier against environmental moisture and odor transfer.
High-barrier liners or hermetic inner bags can reduce exposure to external humidity and gases. They may be especially useful for higher-value coffee, longer transit, humid routes, or lots whose sensory character the buyer wants to preserve closely.
The choice should consider:
- transit duration;
- origin and destination climate;
- storage time before loading;
- expected warehouse conditions;

A liner that is badly sealed, punctured, or placed inside a contaminated outer bag cannot deliver the intended protection.

Every commercial bag in a quality-focused shipment should be identifiable. The exact label depends on the contract and destination, but useful information can include:
