A new Cambodia Robusta product should move through clear gates from sourcing to customer launch. Without a launch structure, teams can approve a good sample but discover later that roast repeatability, supply volume, pricing, staff training, or menu communication was never resolved.
Gate 1: Green coffee approval
Confirm lot identity, crop year, process, physical condition, sensory profile, available quantity, price basis, and supplier documentation. Record the sample ID and the specific lot being considered for purchase.
Gate 2: Roast development
Run a controlled sample or pilot roast, then move to production-size trials. Record the profile and define the acceptable production window. The goal is a repeatable roast, not a one-time ideal result.
Gate 3: Beverage application
Test the coffee in the final format: espresso, blend, filter, cold brew, milk drink, packaged product, or another application. Use normal equipment and service conditions.

Gate 4: Commercial validation
Calculate green cost, freight, roast loss, packaging, recipe cost, labor, and expected margin. Confirm minimum order quantity and replenishment lead time. A product should not launch with economics that only work on the sample quantity.
Gate 5: Supply readiness
Approve the commercial lot, contract terms, quality specification, packaging, shipping plan, and backup process if the next crop or lot changes. Decide how repeat lots will be compared with the launch reference.
Gate 6: Customer communication
Build simple, accurate messaging around Cambodia origin, Robusta quality, processing, flavor, and intended experience. Avoid claims that cannot be supported. Staff should be able to explain why the coffee is on the menu in language customers understand.
Gate 7: Limited rollout and review
Launch in a controlled channel or period when possible. Track sales, beverage quality, staff feedback, customer response, waste, and operational issues. Set a review date and decide whether to scale, adjust, or stop.
A successful product launch connects sourcing, quality, operations, finance, and marketing. Cambodia Robusta becomes a durable product when each team is working from the same approved coffee and the same commercial objective.
