The quoted coffee price is only one part of the cost of buying Robusta Cambodia. Importers should calculate landed cost before comparing the origin with other supply options.

Separate coffee cost from logistics cost

Start with the commercial price under the agreed delivery term. Then add export handling, documentation, inland transport where applicable, ocean or air freight, insurance, destination handling, customs services, duties or taxes where applicable and final delivery to the buyer's warehouse.

Include financing and loss assumptions

Inventory has a carrying cost. Currency movement, payment timing, sampling, inspection and expected weight loss can also change the real cost per kilogram. A cheaper quotation can become more expensive if the shipment requires extra handling or arrives slowly enough to create stockouts.

Compare equivalent scenarios
