A good Robusta Cambodia lot can lose value while waiting for shipment if warehouse conditions are poorly controlled. Origin storage is part of post-harvest quality, not a separate logistics issue.
Keep coffee away from moisture and odor
Green coffee absorbs environmental conditions. Bags should be stored off the floor, away from walls where condensation can occur and away from fuel, chemicals, spices or other strong odors.
Track lot identity and age
Clear bag labels and warehouse records prevent accidental mixing. First-in/first-out logic may be useful, but specialty lots should also follow specific contract and quality-release instructions.
Inspect during storage
Longer holding periods deserve periodic checks for bag condition, insects, odor and moisture risk. Protective liners or hermetic systems may be appropriate depending on value, duration and climate.
Warehouse checklist
- Clean, dry floor and roof
- Pallets or raised storage
- Air movement without rain exposure
- Lot labels visible
- No contaminating odors
- Pest monitoring
- Storage dates recorded
For Robusta Cambodia exporters, disciplined warehouse management preserves the work already invested at farm and processing stages.
