Short answer: There is no single best Incoterm for Cambodian green coffee. The right term depends on who can manage inland transport, export clearance, freight, insurance, import clearance, and destination delivery most effectively. Buyers should choose the term only after confirming the supplier’s actual export capability and the shipment route.

Why Incoterms matter in Cambodian sourcing

A price without a delivery term is incomplete. The Incoterm defines where cost, risk, and responsibility transfer between seller and buyer.

For a new Cambodian supplier relationship, this matters because production, inland logistics, and export may involve different parties.

What should buyers clarify before choosing a term?

Ask:

Who controls the coffee now?
Where is it stored?
Who can legally export it?
Which loading point or port will be used?
Who normally books freight?
Who handles export documentation?
Does the buyer already have a freight forwarder?

Common decision logic

A buyer who has strong freight and import capability may prefer more control over main transport. A buyer who wants the supplier or trading partner to manage more of the route may request a term that includes more seller-side logistics.

The correct choice depends on the actual transaction, not a generic Cambodia rule.

Compare quotations on the same Incoterm

A lower FOB-style price and a higher delivered-style price may not indicate a real price difference if the included logistics are different.

Normalize offers before choosing a supplier.

The buyer takeaway

Choose the Incoterm that makes responsibilities clearest and execution most reliable. For Cambodian Fine Robusta, supplier capability should determine the structure—not marketing convenience.

Faq

Is FOB always best for green coffee?

No. The correct term depends on route, supplier capability, buyer logistics resources, and the agreed shipment structure.

Can a producer quote an Incoterm if another company exports?

Yes, but the exporter and contracting responsibilities should be clear.

Should buyers compare quotes with different Incoterms?

Only after normalizing what each price includes.
